Liposuction with a water jet removes annoying lumps in problem areas with a comparatively simple procedure. Immediately before the liposuction, the tissue is locally anesthetized with a "water jet" containing sprayed local anesthetic and adrenaline. With this comparatively gentle method, no anesthesia / general anesthesia is necessary. Due to the dissecting power of the Power Spray, there are fewer hematomas (bruising) and the recovery time after liposuction is shorter.

The water power of high-pressure spray facilitates suction and flushes out the tissue once it has been dissolved. The need for anesthesia decreases in the case of waterjet liposuction and healing occurs quickly. It only lasts a few weeks instead of months.

Water jet liposuction is not very traumatic and can therefore be performed without a special compression garment. After a suction on the abdomen, you should wear a bodice to avoid swelling. The procedure is also acceptable as summer liposuction. Showering and light sport are already possible the day after the gentle liposuction. It is unusual for liquid to leak out for several days after liposuction, as only a small amount of liquid is used and it is immediately sucked out again. In some patients, we use even less volume of liquid during liposuction than the volume of fat tissue that is suctioned out! The swelling will be less for about three weeks with waterjet liposuction than with conventional liposuction.

The process of water jet liposuction does not require machine vibration, i.e. the liposuction cannula is not moved by a motor umpteen times per second. This makes it more difficult for the surgeon to penetrate the fatty tissue, but he feels the tissue resistance more precisely and can therefore proceed as gently as possible. In addition, it is not necessary to previously swell the tissue with liters of tumescent solution during the operation. Most of the liquid sprayed on site (water jet) is immediately sucked off again. As a result, the treatment with the water jet technique is comparatively dry and the residual liquid is less. The volume absorbed by the body, including the added medication, is reduced.

Is the fat coming back? No.

A suctioned region will henceforth be subject to less and less fluctuations in weight and will always remain relatively thinner than before the liposuction. After fat removal, the patient must pay attention to their body weight, otherwise unwanted redistribution may occur. To prevent this, control of fat redistribution by autologous fat transplantation to the body part of your choice, e.g. B. chest or buttocks.

What makes the process comparatively gentle?

Unlike normal liposuction, the water jet (waterjet) during liposuction loosens the fat cells and makes them easier to suck off. The fat cells are virtually flushed out during the suction. The renunciation of large-volume swelling and mechanical aids (vibration) support a sensitive procedure. The suction rate, i.e. amount of fat per time, is higher and the procedure is therefore shorter.

Liposuction under local anesthesia

The suction with the water jet method (WAL liposuction) is particularly suitable for liposuction without anesthesia and without twilight sleep due to the gentler method and the shortened intervention time. The local anesthetic using the water jet technique has an immediate effect, so that the procedure can be carried out on the awake patient. The advantages of liposuction under local anesthesia are the increased safety and the immediate fitness of the patient after liposuction.

Water Jet Liposuction Cost

The costs of waterjet liposuction in a region on both sides are approx. €2,500. Additional regions are charged at around €1,800 each. These costs are determined individually according to the medical fee schedule. The costs for medical, adapted compression underwear (approx. 120 euros) and lymphatic drainage (approx. 250 euros) are to be borne by yourself. Lipocenter helps with procurement and organization. The individual cost offer for a waterjet liposuction is explained during the consultation and broken down according to the scale of fees. The VAT of 19% is included in the price. Lipoedema patients may be able to deduct the cost of the treatment from their taxes as health expenses.

Am I suitable for liposuction with the water jet method?

Patients should be healthy and active. The requirements for the water jet procedure do not differ from the conditions for conventional liposuction. We would be happy to advise you in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Cologne or Zurich (Constance). In principle, patients who are not significantly overweight and do not have extreme skin aprons (excess skin) are suitable for liposuction. For lipoedema patients, despite being overweight, liposuction is the non-conservative therapy of choice.
